Frequently Asked Questions
How
many lessons will I need?
People learn at
different rates. The national pass rate is approximately 40%. This
is low because a large number of people
attempt their test too early without the correct amount of training.
We will advise you when
you are ready so you can book a test in advance and work
towards it. DSA figures show that the average number of lessons taken
is
45 with an experienced driving
instructor with a further 22 hours taken with a parent, etc.
How
long is a lesson?
Normally a lesson will last 1 hour but can be
2 hours
if preferred.
Can I smoke during my lesson?
No, since July 2007 it is illegal
to smoke in
a driving school vehicle.
Can my pick-up and drop-off points
be different?
Yes, with prior agreement
and as much notice as possible.
Will
I sit a mock test?
Yes, the mock test is an
excellent learning tool
and will be undertaken 4 weeks before the test.
Do
you provide refresher lessons for
qualified drivers?
Yes, we recommend up to 10 hours
to return to a
high standard.
Who
books my test?
We will provide you with full details
of how and
when to book your test or we can do this for you.
Do
you teach the PASS PLUS course?
Yes, PASS PLUS is
a road safety initiative aimed at improving
the skills of pupils who have just passed
their test. The course
includes all-weather
driving, night driving, town driving, dual carriageway
driving, driving on motorways and out of town driving.
Can
my instructor accompany me on my
