Theory Test including the Hazard Perception Test. Without having passed these
two tests at the same time you cannot book the Practical Driving Test
Theory Test
This consists of 50 multiple choice questions at
a touch screen computer. You are allowed 60 minutes to complete the test.
To pass the test you need
to answer at least 43 questions correctly. Once you’ve completed the Theory
Test you will move onto the Hazard Perception Test.

The HPT comprises 14 video clips containing 15 developing
hazards. A hazard is anything causing you as
the driver to change your speed or direction. Video clips are taken
from a database of 200, featuring real-life road
scenes and developing hazards. Currently the pass rate is 44/75
for car drivers .You must pass the both the Theory
and the HPT at the same time to gain your Theory test certificate.
Please visit the DSA website for
mock Theory Test questions and further information
on both tests.
Practical Driving Test

35-40 minutes on a designated test route. You are expected to
demonstrate that you can drive safely, with consideration
for other road users and also perform specially
